The green underlines clips that are 10 frames long, that is the digits 0 through 9 are displayed sequentially.

The red   underlines clip that are 7 frames long, that is, the digits 0 through 6 are displayed.

This examines the frame synchronization rule. It appears that flash dives down into the movie clip defintions and synchronizes them by playing the first frame of all clips, the second frame of all clips, etc.
